This is the one of the broadest areas of our practice, focusing on day to day disputes between persons (and juristic entities) that are not criminal in nature.
Environmental
In our ever changing and more environmentally conscious world, this area of the law is developing rapidly. Our offices assist our client with advice and facilitation on environmental related issues, including: environmental authorisations for listed activities, environmental audits and due diligence reports as well as representation during the litigation processes which may follow.
Family
As the name suggests, this area deals with (legal) matters relating to family, which predominantly includes drafting fundamental documents such as ante nuptial contracts and last will and testaments. We also represent our clients in divorce and maintenance proceedings.
Labour
This is the body of the law that deals predominantly with employment relationships. This includes dealing with disputes that arise between an employer and employee, advising and drafting important agreements such as employment agreements, mutual separation agreements and settlement agreements. We also assist our clients with the preparation and facilitation of CCMA disputes.
Property
This area of the law deals with disputes surrounding immovable property, including: mediating disputes arising between landlords, agents and tenants, drafting tailor made lease agreements (compliant with relevant legislation), arrear rental recovery, rental housing tribunal representation and facilitating eviction applications.
Conveyancing & Notarial Services
Our offices, through the offices of Michaeli attorneys, facilitate all the processes invloved in the purchase and sale of immovable property. Further, we provide our clients with notarial services, including notarising and lodging documents with the deeds office, such as: ante nuptial contracts, notarial bonds as well authenticating documents that may be required in South Africa or abroad.
